For this you have to right-click on the system tray icon and choose Play. If you have a Spotify account, then you can also choose to play the radio from within the Last.fm desktop app. You can also right-click on system tray icon and choose to “love” the track. You can double-click on the Scrobbler icon in the system tray to open the Last.fm Scrobbler window, see all the details of the captured track information, and also click on the small heart icon to “love” that track. When it captures the details of the music being played in your PC, Last.fm Scrobbler displays a notification about the song being played. These plugins help it capture the track information of the music you listen to and then if you “love” the music, it is added to your Love.fm user profile. Now for the Windows PC user’s they have released Last.fm desktop client which basically does two things – it allows you to listen to a Spotify powered radio and it scrobbles the tracks you listen to in order to update your Last.fm user profile.ĭuring the installation, it offers to install plugins for various music players like Winamp, Windows Media Player, Apple iTunes etc. For example, if it finds that you really enjoy Black Eyes Peas albums then it could recommend you to listen to the singles by Will.i.am or Fergie. But if something has not changed in this music service, it is the audio scrobbler feature – an intelligent program that observes your likes and dislikes in the music and then recommends the music that you might be interested in. I am using Poweramp alpha-build-703-play on a Honor 8 Huawei FRD-L09 with Android Version 7.Last.fm started out as a free online radio streaming service, but has transformed into a subscriber only radio service over the years. Scrobbles from Poweramp are now published again. I can confirm these settings above work for me. I even put the apps on whitelist (removing app optimization on my phone) If I pause a song it isn't scrobbled directly, but it will be scrobbled as soon as I continue listening or start listening to new songs, if the 50% were already reached)ĭo you have Poweramp v3 Alpha? Because I've tried the exact settings above with the play store Poweramp version and I'm still missing scrobbles. Note that newer android versions have battery saving features and kill apps if they're not on the whitelist as soon as the screen is disabled, so you need to put SLS on the whitelist. Scrobble via Simple Last.fm disabled (yeah, sounds weird but it really works) Now I found a solution and it works fine since 3 hours using SLS, my settings are: I'd issues scrobbling too with Poweramp v3 alpha. (Others available: Anroid Music Player, Spotify, Sony Ericsson Music Player) When to scrobble When you press the scrobble now button Scrobble point 50% (a bit pessimistic, I'll probably raise this as confidence with Last.fm app scrobbling improves) Scrobble via Official Last.fm app: unticked (was ticked until yesterday) The scrobbling settings in Poweramp are as follows: It's not really a problem, as I know I've got one reliable source of scrobbling, which surprisingly turns out to be via the Last.fm app. Now I actually don't know if SLS has been going 95% on my scrobbles too. Damn. Do you have only SLS checked in Poweramp settings, and only Poweramp checked in SLS settings? I encountered the duplicate scrobbles problem too. I'll keep my eye on it for a few days and update with any findings or suspicions.Īhhhh. So now I'm getting almost double scrobbles (I say almost as it's 100% via Official Last.fm app and maybe 90-95% from SLS), I can easily delete the doubles. (I assume this is because I have "Other music apps" selected in the "Scrobble from" section of the Official Last. All of a sudden 100% of Official Last.fm scrobbles are appearing! how odd. All I did was uncheck "Scrobble via Official Last.fm app" in the Poweramp settings. I didn't uninstall it, as I use it to check stats etc now and again. In other words, Poweramp should just let SLS know to add a song to the scrobble cache, and no network traffic happens until I intervene.Īlso it seemed that the Official Last.fm app wasn't working as I was getting maybe 5-10% of its scrobbles through (which is why I installed SLS to save the day, despite losing the occasional scrobble).Īnyway I took your advice regarding the Official Last.fm app. I wondered as I read your post how, given my scrobbling setup, the official Last.fm app would "get in the way" of the Simple Last.fm's scrobbles, seeing as I Have SLS set up to not send scrobbles until I hit the "scrobble now" button.
