Up top of Bowser's Tower lies a hidden star and the other is held by LouderMonkeyBoy, the creator in his Toad form, inside his game house. One star can be collected by gathering the red coins, and the other is held by MIPS on the unreachable floating island in the sky. One star is held on a tomb in the cemetary (represented by a sparkling sprite), and another star held by a Toad behind the alternate entrance of Course 4. It is based on the mission "The Star Festival" in Super Mario Galaxy, with similar features from Super Mario 64's Castle Grounds. The ending area of the game, accessible after collecting all 99 stars. The latter takes the player to a room where it can choose the blue crystal door to unlock the cannon in the Great Maze, whereas the red crystal door is only open with all 98 stars. This area acts as a bridge between the 3 overworlds, the Grand Finale and the Bowser fight.
